Aviary is a collection of 36 townhomes in Richmond City Centre created around a simple idea: a small residential community should be designed as a complete living experience. Working with Formwerks Architectural, Tera brought together architecture, landscape, shared spaces and refined interiors to create a distinct sense of place - quiet and green, yet close to the centre of Richmond.

Aviary

Contemporary Tudor, reimagined.

Formwerks Architectural gave Aviary a contemporary interpretation of Tudor-inspired architecture, bringing warmth, character and a strong residential identity to the community.

Landscape

Aviary

A landscape with a sense of permanence.

Existing mature trees were intentionally retained as part of the community plan, allowing Aviary to feel established from the beginning and giving the architecture a richer relationship with its landscape.

Beyond the Front Door

Designed beyond the home.

Landscaped pedestrian routes, the lookout, arrival areas and shared spaces were considered as part of the same experience as the homes themselves - extending design beyond the front door and throughout the community.

The Common

Aviary

A shared living room for the community.

At the heart of Aviary is The Common, a shared resident space designed for coffee, reading, working, relaxing and spending time with neighbours. Books, community programming and small sensory details give the space a character of its own.

The same thinking continues inside.

Aviary’s interiors were designed with the same attention to everyday experience, from spatial planning and millwork to material selection and storage.

The Final Release Curated Collection further elevates select homes with Gaggenau appliances, engineered hardwood flooring, built-in closet organization and Ring smart doorbells.
